Energy Safe Victoria Canteen Grants are back for 2019!

03 APR 2019

AFL Victoria is thrilled to announce that Energy Safe Victoria will once again be supporting community football in 2019, with the Energy Safe Victoria Canteen Grants Program rolling out to ensure club canteens are safely equipped for the season ahead.

The Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) Canteen Grant Program supports clubs to be more energy safe in their operations and increase awareness of energy safety issues at the community level.

Over 150 clubs from around Victoria applied during the program’s inaugural year in 2018. This year, clubs competing in AFL Victoria affiliated leagues will be eligible for funding to improve energy safety in their canteens, as part of Energy Safe Victoria’s commitment to creating a safer state.

In 2019, the program will provide grants to the value of 50% of the applicant’s total project cost, with a maximum grant reimbursement of $1,000 per application for the purchase of new or replacement electrical or gas appliances.

Grants may be used for equipment such as a pie warmer, urn or microwave or other small-scale appliances. Funding can also be used towards larger equipment such as a barbeque or fridge.

Specific cases of hardship or special circumstance will be considered, where the 50% Club contribution to the project cost will be waived. Clubs must contact AFL Victoria on safercanteengrants@afl.com.au. Only one grant will be provided per club.
