AFL VICTORIA METRO JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SERIES

The AFL Victoria Metro Junior Development Series is Victoria's premier under 14s and 15s development program for metropolitan boys and girls footballers.

For many Victorian metro footballers and officials, the Metro Junior Development Series provides a pathway to higher level talent programs and for some it is a step towards a career in the AFL or AFLW.

The competition will include representative teams from the Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL), Essendon District Football League (EDFL), Northern Football Netball League (NFNL), Riddell District Football Netball League (RDFNL), South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL), Western Region Football League (WRFL), and Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) regions.

It was great to see a number of competitive matches played at 25 venues across Victoria, including RSEA Park in Moorabbin and Kinetic Stadium in Frankston. The series was an opportunity for community leagues to showcase those players whose performance at local club level has warranted selection to participate in the interleague competition, as part of the talent pathway to higher-level programs for boys and girls, such as the Coates Talent League.
