AFL Victoria is proud to partner with the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation because we love the game, not the odds.
This season, AFL Victoria will support Love the game, not the odds rounds across the state.
Our dedicated Love the Game Rounds aim to help increase community awareness about the issue of gambling in sport and protect children from sports betting promotions.
Alongside AFL Victoria, more than 500 sporting clubs including Victoria’s 10 AFL teams, 11 leagues and commissions, and community clubs are Love the Game partners, demonstrating to young people that sport and betting don’t have to go together.
These days, sports betting advertising is everywhere. And for young people, especially, it would be hard to remember a time when we watched sport without thinking about the odds. Today’s ads make it look like you need to have a bet on the game to enjoy it.
A survey found that 88 per cent of Victorian sports fans agree that young people are exposed to too much sports betting advertising.*

We encourage all clubs to love the game, not the odds.
