Clunes the next stop on WorkSafe Country Club tour
WorkSafe Victoria’s support of country football extends to Clunes this week, for the fifth match of the 2023 WorkSafe Country Club Game series.
The locals will be out in force to support the mighty Clunes Magpies, who currently sit 11th on the ladder in the seniors, and fifth in the reserves in the Central Highlands Football League in central west Victoria. The Magpies take on Bungaree, who sit second in the seniors.
Located 36 kilometres north of Ballarat, the town on Clunes is known for being the site of Victoria's first gold strike in 1851 which led to a gold rush that swept across central Victoria.
Football has been played in the Clunes and district area since this gold rush era and the Clunes Football Netball Club was established in 1886.
the WorkSafe Country Club games support country football clubs by providing them with a week of activations and experiences culminating in a traditional WorkSafe Country Club Game.
All matches are live streamed free and replays available via the AFL Victoria live streaming hub: aflvic.tv
