The Energy Safe Victorian Blind Football League (ESV VBFL) will host its inaugural Pride Round and the first of two All-Star Games this Saturday August 6th in an action packed weekend of football at Action Indoor Sports Centre Tullamarine.

A blockbuster day of football will see all four ESV VBFL teams play off in Pride matches before the teams come together to form the Victoria and Allies sides for the showcase All-Star Game.

Several players in the ESV VBFL travel from interstate to Victoria to play, and the All-Star Game will see the many of the best players in the league go head-to-head for the first time.

The All-Star Game is part of a two match series, with the first match played on the 6th of August at 3.30pm and the second on the 20th of August at 1.30pm.

Hawthorn player and Victorian captain, Ned Brewer-Maiga, said he was excited to represent Victoria in the All-Star Game in what would be an exciting moment for the ESV VBFL.

"Being a proud Victorian I am extremely excited an honoured to pull on the Big V and represent my state."

"It is also a great opportunity to showcase the talent of blind athletes across our country and will go a long way to promote and progress AFL Blind across the country and highlight the appetite for competitive and inclusive sport.”

Allies Player, Steffan Nero, echoed the words of Brewer-Maiga saying that the exposure of the All-Star Game would be invaluable for the progression of the game.

"The All-Star Games are a great way to showcase the ability of vision impaired and blind athletes on a grand scale, and the respect and inclusivity in which we play the game.
