Parade and Rowville advance to Inter Boys div one decider

Parade College will take on Rowville Secondary College in the Grand Final of the 2023 Herald Sun Shield Intermediate Boys Division One competition after both teams recorded impressive Semi-Final victories on Tuesday. 

Parade were far too strong for Marcellin College and ran out 19.15 (129) to 0.6 (6) before Rowville overcame a quarter-time deficit to break away from defending champions St Patrick's College Ballarat in the second half and win 12.6 (78) to 3.9 (27). Matches were played in excellent conditions at Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham. 

A close loss in last year's Grand Final to St Patrick's means Parade will be out to atone and go one better, with the Grand Final scheduled for Thursday 10 August, back at Trevor Barker Oval. 

But it won't be easy with Rowville showing they are a football force to be reckoned with and can stand up against the best school teams in the state. Rowville earned a Semi-Final spot after beating Caulfield Grammar in the play-in game a week earlier and will be out to win the title after taking out the Intermediate Boys Division Two flag in 2022.

Senior Boys Division One Semi-Finals will take place in Sandringham on Wednesday 2 August, with Parade showing their strength as a football school in representing Associated Catholic Colleges in both Senior and Intermediate Boys competitions. They will play Padua College in the first Semi-Final on Wednesday, before Ballarat Clarendon College take on Maribyrnong College.
