Herald Sun Shield results: Girls Division One Semi-Finals

The Herald Sun Shield made a triumphant return on Wednesday 20 July with the Girls Division One Semi-Finals kicking off the renowned school football competition that will run from July through September.

The 2022 Herald Sun Shield is the 44th edition of the prestigious competition and marks the first time the competition has taken place since the 2019 instalment.

In a boost for the competition, News Corp Australia have continued their support of the Shield and are providing exclusive live streaming coverage of all games via their KommunityTV platform (www.kommunitytv.com).

Day one of play saw the Division One Intermediate and Senior Girls teams play off for a chance to play in the Grand Final to be held at ETU Stadium (Port Melbourne) next Thursday 28 July.

In the Intermediate Girls, Clonard College were too strong for Geelong College down in Geelong, whilst Ballarat Clarendon defeated Peninsula Grammar at Highgate Reserve.

The scores were much closer in the Seniors, as Caulfield edged out Ballarat Grammar in a thriller at Highgate, whilst Rowville Secondary came from behind to defeat Melbourne Girls Grammar in the final match of the day at Trevor Barker Beach Oval.

The results will see Clonard College and Ballarat Clarendon meet in the Intermediate Girls Grand Final before Caulfield take on Rowville in the Senior Girls Grand Final with the two games to be played back-to-back on Thursday 28 July at ETU Stadium, Port Melbourne commencing at 11:45am.
