The 2023 Herald Sun Shield Intermediate Girls Division Two Grand Final will be played as a curtain-raiser to the opening game of the 2023 NAB AFLW season at Ikon Park on Friday 1 September.

In what will be a special and memorable opportunity for the teams involved, Padua College, comprising players from the Mornington, Rosebud and Tyabb campuses, and Our Lady of Sion College from Box Hill will contest the decider of the interschool competition ahead of the big Melbourne v Collingwood AFLW Round One clash.

The schools won through to the Herald Sun Shield decider after being the two best sides from the round robin event played at Craigieburn two weeks ago, with Padua representing the Southern Independent Schools (SIS) association, while Our Lady of Sion qualified for the Herald Sun Shield as the top team from the Catholic Girls Sports Association of Victoria (CGSAV).

The Grand Final will commence at 4:30pm, with the first bounce of the AFLW match set for 7:20pm.
