Community footy player payments set for 2022
The Community Club Sustainability Program advisory group that is set up to ratify player payments across community football statewide met recently and amongst other considerations, re-confirmed allowable player payments for leagues ahead of the 2022 season.
Across men’s country and metropolitan leagues, player payments will mostly remain the same from 2021 to 2022, which is a good outcome for community football across the board, particularly given the uncertainty and disruption caused by the pandemic in the past two seasons. This gives leagues and clubs clarity heading into the 2022 season.
There are a small number of leagues where minor changes to player payments will occur, for reasons including changes to number of matches and players on the team sheet increasing from 21 to 22. But, there are no substantial changes to payments across country and metro leagues.
The allowable player payments will be reviewed for the 2023 season.
