AFL Victoria has released the 2022 Herald Sun Shield Team of the Tournament for Senior Girls, following the return of the historic inter-school competition this year, played for the first time since 2019.

The team is made up of players that produced outstanding performances for schools from either Senior Girls Division One or Senior Girls Division Two.

Senior Girls Division One was won by Caulfield Grammar, who defeated Rowville Secondary College in the Grand Final at Port Melbourne. The semi-finals were both closely contested with Caulfield edging out Ballarat Grammar and Melbourne Girls Grammar falling just short of Rowville.

In Senior Girls Division Two, Our Lady of Mercy College Heidelberg triumphed after they defeated Sacred Heart College Geelong. The schools won through after being the top-ranked teams in a lightning carnival contested by seven schools.
