2019 WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships

The 2019 WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships is set to be bigger and better this year to deliver another thrilling round of football. The opportunity to participate in senior representative programs will again be a highlight for footballers in community competitions across Victoria.

This year, a total of 30 leagues will compete in a one-off head-to-head match across various venues around the state. This year will also see the introduction of six senior women’s leagues competing in the 2019 WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships.

The battle for community football’s top ranking is set to be another blockbuster, when the Northern Football Netball League takes on Geelong Football League at Queens Park, Geelong. Big crowds are expected at the double header which also includes Bellarine Football League v Geelong District Football League. The Geelong Women’s League will also play the Northern Women’s League in a senior women’s game on the same day.

AFL Outer East is set to play Bendigo this year for the first time as part of the newly expanded AFL Outer East initiative, which includes clubs who previously represented the South East Football Netball League. The Ellinbank District Football Netball League v West Gippsland Football Netball League match will be hotly contested as the two local rivals go head-to-head.

This year will also see games being played between Leagues who have not played one another in recent history. These games include Goulburn Valley Football League v Western Region Football League, Hampden Football League v Ballarat Football Netball League, Bellarine Football League v Geelong District Football League, Sunraysia Football League v Heathcote District Football League and North Central Football League v Central Highlands Football League.
