The AFL Club Next Generation Academies is a joint initiative between the AFL and AFL clubs. The focus of the program is to increase opportunities to Multicultural and Indigenous participants who many be new or want to learn more about Australian Rules Football (AFL). The program is available to all young people, with any skill level, aged 11 – 18.
AFL Clubs have their own program format, which may include:
• Australian Rules Football (AFL) clinic and skills sessions
• Come and Try days involving an introduction AFL
• Leadership and Teamwork sessions
• Fitness Testing and training programs
• Education sessions including cultural awareness, nutrition, healthy living etc.
Participants will be exposed to elite football experience with expert coaching and facilities. Each program may differ slightly but will involve a range of different sessions throughout the school holidays or after school hours.
