WHAT IS JUNIOR X?

Junior X is the AFL’s modified and social version of the game for Juniors (8-14 years old). The modified element of the games makes it suitable for kids of any age or skill level. Importantly, Junior X is easy to play, not too physically demanding and provides an environment where fun, enjoyment and safety are a priority.


The competition will have the following age groups- U10s, U12’ and U14’s across- Boys, Girls and Mixed (social hub specific).

WHAT TO EXPECT AT JUNIOR X?

Junior X is a social and exciting brand of AFL, that allows people regardless of age, ability or gender to compete in a fun and safe environment.


You can expect to run, kick, jump and laugh whilst enjoying some quality time with friends and teammates.


Whist Junior X is High scoring and action-packed! It is also easy to play and there is no previous AFL experience needed to join.

 

The competition fee is per participant and is dependent upon on the length of the program

RULES

The game is played between two teams of nine (9) with interchange players.


The field has a recommended length of 90 metres (which can be modified depending on the age and ability level of participants) and is divided into three zones: a mid zone and two scoring zones.


Teams score by kicking the football into their attacking scoring zone to designated forwards who are the only players permitted to score.


After a goal the backline player gets a kick in from the top of the defensive third.
