VOLUNTEER SUPPORT OFFICER

An AFL Victoria Volunteer Support Officer is primarily responsible for assisting community football clubs to undertake tasks which will save current club volunteers some of the demands which they currently face.

The purpose is to decrease the workload and burden on club volunteers by decreasing the tasks they might need to do for their club.

This assistance may include:

  • Creating volunteer management programs within a club
  • Grant applications
  • Club succession planning
  • Initiatives to promote good governance
  • Support with educational activities within clubs
  • Support the improvement of administration of community football clubs.
  • Look for opportunities to provide volunteers with upskilling and professional development opportunities.
  • Other duties where required

The AFL Victoria Volunteer Support Officer team plays an increasingly important role of assisting to enhance and grow community football across all competitions.

The ideal person has some experience in community club football and understands club committee structures and roles.

You don’t need to be a footy expert! You do need to be prepared to be proactive to show community club volunteers how you can help them to make their experiences with their club more enjoyable.

These are casual roles and hours vary depending on club demands and the opportunities you can create for clubs.

What we need from you:

  • Possess enthusiastic, energetic and professional qualities
  • An interest in enhancing AFL across Victoria
  • The ability to work flexible hours
  • Your own transport & valid driver’s license
  • Victorian Working with Children Check – employee card
  • Meet requirements to work in Australia
  • Ability to show evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 virus
