Early in 2015, AFL Victoria released a landmark study conducted by Latrobe University into the value of a community football club.
The research provides a resounding endorsement of the many social and economic benefits that flow from Australian Football.
Conducted in partnership with AFL Victoria and the AFL, found that community football clubs generate a range of positive effects for local communities, including heightened levels of physical and mental wellbeing, social interaction and economic activity.
To help clubs utilise this research, AFL Victoria has created the Community Reach Template, a simple tool for clubs to use to quantify the extent with which their activities impact the community.
A copy of the template can be found below, along with instructions on how to fill it out and a copy of the Research Project Summary.
