Victoria has unveiled its new Kickstart Indigenous jumper ahead of the 2017 National Diversity Championships on April 8.
Designed by former Victorian Kickstart captain and Eastern Ranges under 16 player Todd Garner, the new jumper sees the return of the Big-V and traditional Victorian white and navy colours.
The re-designed strip also embraces traditional Indigenous artwork including boomerangs, wombat footprints and meeting place symbols to describe the pathway for players to progress their football careers through the Kickstart program.
“It was a huge honour to have my design used for the Victorian Kickstart jumper,” Garner said.
“It’s a real privilege to have the boys run out in something that I have designed, so I hope they like it and wear it with pride.”
Victoria will kick off its 2017 National Diversity Championships campaign in Round 1 of the competition on Sunday April 9.
